The Family Planning Waiver and Emergency Contraception Response Line was started in 2004
to ensure timely access to EC for Wisconsin residents. From its inception, enrollment assistance
for Wisconsin's Family Planning Waiver was incorporated as a way to connect callers to
ongoing reproductive health care, to promote the health and knowledge of women and families
throughout their lives, and to improve the lives of generations to come. The project is now a
partership between FPHS and the Wisconsin Department of Health that serves hundreds of women
every year.
Family Planning Health Services is a maternal and child health service agency that provides
high quality, affordable and accessible reproductive health and nutrition services to women
and their families. FPHS serves women and their partners in need by providing low=cost contraceptive

and nutrition education, and their young children who need nutritious food supplements. FPHS promotes
ideals that knowledge of sexuality is preferable to ignorance and that prevention and health promotion
are the means of achieving our purposes for people of all ages and incomes. Its mission
embraces an ongoing commitment to gender equity, community health promotion, and connumity progress.
